Artist's Description

The Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker (triplane) saw widespread service in World War I during the spring of 1918. It became renowned as the aircraft in which Manfred von Richthofen gained his last 19 victories, and in which he was killed on 21 April 1918.

About Dan Myers

Dan Myers

Born and raised in Iowa, I served in the United States Navy for 24 years before finally retiring to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where I currently work as an air traffic controller at the Lancaster Airport in Lititz, PA. I've always had an interest in photography, especially aviation; and now that digital has arrived, I enjoy capturing the images that I've always passed on because of the cost and my lack of experience. I hope that my images might inspire someone to stop for a moment, look around, and enjoy the beauty around them. You never know what you might see. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your visit. Feel free to contact me at dancin1995@comcast.net if you have any questions.
